About Hannah:

Hannah-headshots-des-moines-photos-2026-iowa-kmp-photo-7503.jpg

Hannah Claire is a vocalist, songwriter, pianist, composer, and arranger whose artistry is rooted in emotionally honest storytelling, original music, and a deep love of musical exploration. Drawing from her jazz foundation while embracing contemporary, singer-songwriter, and R&B influences, Hannah’s sound is defined ultimately by her deeply personal perspective.

Originally from the small mountain town of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Hannah began her musical journey at a young age. She went on to attend the University of North Texas, where she studied under renowned educators Rosana Eckert and Jennifer Barnes. During her time at UNT, she became a featured member of the UNT Jazz Singers and served as the lead vocalist for the Grammy-nominated One O’Clock Lab Band.

Hannah most recently completed a five-month tour with the Glenn Miller Orchestra as its featured vocalist, performing to sold-out venues across the country. She has also opened for major artists including Silk Sonic and Ella Langley, further establishing herself as a dynamic and compelling voice in today’s musical landscape.

As both a performer and composer, Hannah has earned national recognition for her artistry and dedication to her craft. Her recent accolades include the 2026 Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composer Award for “Little Flower”, first place at the 2026 NextGen Vocal Competition, and the 2025 DownBeat Award for Vocal Jazz Soloist. She was also selected as the vocalist for the 2025 Jazz Aspen Snowmass Big Band Session, led by Christian McBride, and was invited to compete in the live rounds of the 2026 American Traditions Vocal Competition in Savannah, Georgia. Throughout her career, she has received numerous competitive scholarships and grants supporting her continued development as an artist.

At the heart of Hannah’s work is a commitment to creating music that feels deeply human. Her debut album, released June 5, 2026, features entirely original music and reflects her love of storytelling, collaboration, and honest self-expression. Drawing from her experiences as a young adult navigating college, perseverance, heartbreak, and family, the album offers an intimate glimpse into the moments and relationships that have shaped her. From songs about finding her way through college to a tender tribute to her little sister, the project is deeply personal and vulnerable. Hannah independently composed, arranged, produced, fundraised for, and promoted the album, making its creation a true reflection of her artistic vision and determination.

Now based in New York City, Hannah continues to explore the spaces between jazz, contemporary music, and singer-songwriter traditions, creating work that is sincere, imaginative, and unmistakably her own.
